Vote for Yrs. Truly in the Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge Thing, Please

Dear Robot Readers,

I could use your help with something. I have a film in this year’s Star Wars Fan Movie Challenge. (I admit it, I’m a huge nerd.) It’s called “Bad Day For Vader”, and I’d love it if you voted for it. It’s only a minute long so that part ain’t hard, but you may have to register on atom first – not sure. You should be done in a couple minutes regardless.

Those of you with weblogs, newspapers, megaphones and/or skywriting businesses, I’d also appreciate your help spreading the word.

Voting stops at noon on friday, so if you could, make haste!

Here’s the link

Thanks and I owe you one.

Star Wars: Force Unleashed Tidbittery

So here’s a “hands-on” (that sounds so weird) from the Nintendo Media Summit all about those sweet saber moves. Here’s another.

I just can’t wait folks, just can’t wait. This is gonna be tasty to the max.

Yeah.

I said that.

Wii Force: Unleashed Controls

Nintendo Fanboy had this yesterday. Dunno if it’s real or not but it looks plausible. I was talking to my sexy lady friend last night about it and he said (yeah I call him a sexy lady) he wasn’t going to buy the Wii version. I said I wanted both a Wii version and a PS3 version (for the super graphics) or a 360 version because I want to play the story through with the big boy consoles and just try the Wii controls. I don’t want to rent it though, yeah yeah I’m silly, but I just feel that sometimes I’d like to throw in the ol’Wii version for some Force Power Workout Action!

I’m not even kidding. Cardio via Lightsaber is a beautiful thing.

The Force Unleashed Montage of Awesome

I find this to be both breathtaking and exciting while at the same time mildly ridiculous.

Exciting because holy damn wombat am I going to be in sexy Jedi heaven. Ridiculous because…well, seriously, how long can ragdoll physics delight the senses? N+ doesn’t count…that delights forever+.

Really I just can’t wait to play this game. I love action! I love Star Wars! I love action making love to Star Wars in my console of choice.

Death Stars and Deathmatches

Let me branch out here from videogames to nerd culture in general. First off, the Crate Digger Deathmatch is on, and you can vote on the singles here. Full disclosure: I’m a participant, under the name Snake Eyes. If you like both country and hiphop – which you probably don’t, what are the odds – you just might like my track. But check out all the tracks, and the full albums where available (some of them are linked from that voting page there).

Also, I thought this was pretty good: Paddy K reconsiders the Death Star as rebel atrocity. It’s sort of derivative of the scene in Clerks, but it’s still funny.

And oh yeah: wrock, wizard rock! (I’m totally stealing links from Hipster, Please here)

Hope For The Future

KOTOR

Okay I have to get this off my chest…

If the worst happens, at the very least I can say I told you so.

On October 30, IGN UK broke the story that Lucasarts and Bioware were teaming up to create an undisclosed “Interactive entertainment product”. The news brought a giddy smile to my face. How could it not? In 2003 Bioware and Lucasarts teamed together to make one of the most enjoyable RPGs I have ever played. But the sequel left a bad taste in my mouth.
