I’m still not 100% clear on how they shot this thing, but I think they filmed strictly to capture the faces and composite them into full CG scenes. Because they weren’t happy with motion capture or 3D modeling the actors’ faces, said faces had to be lit and subjected to camera moves to match the eventual lighting & moves in the CG scene. Hence the wall of LEDs and the robot arm camera.

I love the look of these towers and I confess to a childish enthusiasm for skyscrapers in general. But you can’t just throw 2600 units onto King street when King’s transit is already at capacity and the traffic essentially impassable already.
